DRM is a evil necessity - and one that isn't going to go away - we must live with
I would be able to use more than one music store... and from my point of view - is a great benefit. If one music store doesn't have the music I want to buy - maybe another does?
( And please, don't tell me to burn -> rip - its slow and unconvenient )
I am by no means saying DRM is not necessary. This is what some people hate though. I understand it is necessary and have no problem with it. I personally choose to buy and rip. Mainly because of quality.
DRM is great. I am just giving another side of the argument.

I suspect it will be an early Thursday morning update, particularly as today is a public holiday in so many countries.
Ahw.. All because of my birthday? How nice!
Actually, as has been said before, there'll be public holidays somewhere everyday, 'so many countries' may mean something, but since you're talking about today, tomorrow could very well happen.

As for wanting / not wanting kids. I don't know. Part of me would like kids one day. On the other hand, I'm afraid I'd mess them up.
Ah, sterile?
Had I done this as a kid, I would have been beaten for it.
Not like bamboo cane or whip beating though, just paddle and maybe belt beating. TBH, in retrospect it really wasn't that bad, and I really did learn to be a pretty decent human being. I turned out just fine too, in fact, I'd like to think better than some of my peers. But that's a bit pretentious, so I digress.
There's obviously a large debate over child punishment though, with adamant supporters on either side of the fence. Which one is right is really a gray zone in my opinion, and while I would like to think soft punishment would be sufficient for my future kids, I definitely see the use for the other side. I think moderation is key in this area; I mean you don't want to see kids running around wild, but at the same time you shouldn't beat your kid senseless. Unfortunately, in today's society everything is construed as child abuse, and I fear that we have strayed a little too far left towards "soft" punishment. But that's just me, I'm sure many of you feel differently.
That was a little off topic.
90 day refund policy w/ iTunes, if I do recall correctly; but I'm sure there's many caveats.
Just bc someone doesn't want children (gasp!!), doesn't mean they can't have them, or even if sterility was the prblem, there's a little thing called adoption. Thousands of unwanted children...
There are many, MANY parents that SHOULDN'T have children. For one of the posters to say that he doesn't want a child for fear he/she will "mess them up," i applaud you. You actually have forethought and restraint when it comes to coitus and relationships.
Wow, think of that...someone you thinks *before* they act......maybe a lot more people should take *that* lead...
Off topic, fine. I didn't bring it up, but if they can insinuate someone is sterile bc they don't want kids, we can have a say in it too.
On topic, if I had accidentally purchased this same app, and not an 11-year-old, would i have gotten that same refund?

Indeed.
My only issue with Lion DP2 and the subsequent update is the animations (I sound like a broken record between this and iOS 4.3).
Everything else is relatively solid thus far.
I agree completely. Launchpad folder animations look like crap right now. Safari previous/next animations are also a bit buggy for me. I assume that these issues will be fixed fairly soon, though.

It surely can't be that hard to add support for T-Mobile's network to the iPhone. All you need are three thing:
a) Support for the 1700/2100MHz AWS frequency bands
b) Support for 3G
c) Putting it all together and adding it in.
The frequencies are already there. One part of the AWS frequency band is within the European 2100 MHz 3G band, which the iPhone already supports. The other part is within the 1800 MHz European GSM band, which the iPhone also already supports.
The support for 3G is already there, that goes without saying.
All you have to do is put them together (and that's already half done, see above) and make sure that it all works from an engineering point of view, then add a bit of software to support the extra capabilities, and you're there.

Actually I could feel that it was slightly heavier as well. I weighed both the black and white model and indeed the white is a little heavier but I really dont care, all my cases that I love (SGP) still work fine so its a "Who Cares" kinda thing as said before.
Oh, jeez, I can't believe you don't know this...charge the black one up to the equivalent level of the white phone and they will weigh exactly the same. ;)

Guys, need some help. I have 10 WU completed and I want to get bigadv going. I've read the setup how-to on F@H and am a little lost. Am I correct to say all I have to do to initiate bigadv is put the "-bigadv" string in my parameter block in the smp client control window?

But I see that 5 other posters don't think so. Those are some pretty big odds...5/1...am I really right?
Yeah, I still think I am. :p
Edit: 7 now!
Well he did have the spec whore thing down and was a pretty convincing Android Fanboy as well.

Let's just assume it's half music and half movies. That's roughly 142,000 songs and over 3000 movies. At .99 cents per song and $10 per movie, that's $170,000 if he paid for it. And he's complaining about $20 year. Hmmm....
Well, I don't know about this guy specifically. But I own over 20,000 vinyl records. Average 10 tracks each, that's 200,000 songs right there. Not to count at least that many 45's. A collection I've gathered over 50 years. Not to mention 78's, cylinders, etc.
Ever shopped a used music store? Movie store? Goodwill? I have thousands of movies myself, many of which I only paid a dollar or even less for.
I download hundreds of songs from emusic for about half the iTunes price.
It's pretty easy to amass a large collectiion without ever paying retail, and being completely legal.
I can't even begin to count the LP's that have been GIVEN to me over the years by people who went to CD and didn't want them anymore, taking up room. Literally station wagons full -- back when station wagons were HUGE. Cost? How about 0 cents per track, except the time spent playing them into the computer. And I'll be damned if I rebuy all the vinyl I bought through the 60's, 70's and 80's.
Ever have someone GIVE you a few hundred CD's because they're all now in their computer and ipod, and they don't want them taking up the room anymore? Sure, thats probably not legal, however, they made a copy and gave the originals away! It certainly wasn't a legal violation on my part! Are they supposed to put them in the trash? I suppose so.
Any idea how many CD's you can buy out there at 50 cents a pop at second hand stores and garage sales? Somehow, that's still legal!
I know I'm not the only one like me out here! Just saying... you're not considering the possibilities. And there's no way I would EVEr pay to stream my stuff from the internet (there is no "cloud")

Wrong. Of course, sequestered in your teaching post-graduate architectural world you may not see the wood for the trees and in the readily-accepted use of the word, 'creatives' do not include those who use AutoCAD.
Wrong? Perhaps you are more informed in the fields of architecture and design and you could teach us a thing or two about what software to use.

Yeah, to be honest the only reason why I didnt wait is because GPU is so bad in the ULVs.
I rather sacrifice 10% when I have an overkill processor rather than a 30% in the GPU which is not really that good.

bought the 27 inch quad i5 stock version last august just days after refresh. I loved it but due to wacky screen issue (dust or heat flaw) I got the apple store to just swap it out 3 months after I bought it. Second one had no issues and continues to perform flawlessly. I want to get a new macbookpro with thunderbolt but I think I'm going to hold off until Lion is released.

Show me where Apple calls Pages a consumer app (http://www.apple.com/iwork/pages/).
Oh come on at least give the guy something!
It is common knowledge that Apple markets two principle lines.
The consumer line which used to be prefaced by an "i". iWork, iLife, iBook, iPod, etc.
And the Pro line which used to be prefaced by power or Pro . Ex: PowerBook, PowerMac, Final Cut Pro. etc.
I am also sure that if you review the introduction of Pages at MacWorld it was intended to compete as a consumer product and not a replacement for Word by Steve Jobs. He is always very careful about how he phrases things so that he doesn't upset, MS or Adobe, when they come out with these apps.

Ha sound like me...typical college student. I've been selling stuff and have returned about 4 things in the past week because they all sucked!
Agreed. I had some cash left over and been meaning to look into remote earbuds since my stock apple ones died and I didn't want to purchase those again. Fell into the marketing scheme a little bit by the Dre's, but I wanted buds that wrapped around the ears since in ears are difficult for me to keep steady.
Found some Phillips for $50, so I'm going to get my $162 back in a few hours.
